# Report Tools in TroubleTrakkerPRO

## 📊 Report Tools

The **Report Tools** section provides TroubleTrakkerPRO administrators with reporting and analytics features that help track ticket activity, technician performance, problem trends, and labor reporting.

This section is available to **Administrators only**.

---

## 📈 Report Analyzer

The **Report Analyzer** allows administrators to analyze ticket activity by technician or by user over a selected date range.

This tool can help identify recurring problem trends, high-volume support categories, technician workload distribution, user support patterns, and overall technician response activity.

Administrators can generate reports **By Technician** or **By User**.

1. Select either **By Technician** or **By User**.
2. Select the desired technician or user.
3. Select the desired **Start Date** and **End Date**.
4. Click **Perform Analysis**.

The generated report displays detailed breakdowns of ticket activity and problem type occurrences within the selected date range.

---

## 📉 Activity Chart

The **Activity Chart** provides a graphical overview of ticket activity by Problem Type over a selected time period.

This report is useful for identifying frequently reported issues, seasonal support trends, high-volume device categories, and infrastructure or software problem patterns.

1. Select the **Start Date** and **End Date**.
2. Click **Generate Chart**.

The report displays the Problem Type, total occurrences, percentage of total tickets, and visual activity bars for quick comparison.

**💡 Note:** Since Problem Types are customizable, the Activity Chart will reflect the categories configured by your organization.

---

## ⏱️ Time and Cost Reports

The **Time and Cost Reports** section allows administrators to generate technician labor reports over a selected date range.

Administrators can generate reports such as:

- Hours worked per ticket
- Hours worked per day
- Average hours worked per day
- Hours and expenses per ticket

1. Select one or more technicians.
2. Select the desired **Start Date**.
3. Select the **Report Duration** in days.
4. Select the desired **Report Type**.
5. Click **Generate Report**.

The resulting report displays technician labor information based on the selected criteria.

---

## ⚠️ Important Note About Labor Time Tracking

The Time and Cost Reports rely on technicians entering labor time within their Work Reports using the **Start Time** and **End Time** fields.

**⚠️ Important:** If technicians are not using the Start/End Time feature when writing Work Reports, the generated labor totals may display as **0.00 Hours** or show no recorded labor time.

Organizations planning to use Time and Cost Reports should ensure that technicians are properly trained to enter labor times when completing Work Reports.

---

## 🛠️ Best Practices

- ✅ Use Report Analyzer regularly to identify recurring support issues
- ✅ Review Activity Charts to help plan device refreshes or infrastructure upgrades
- ✅ Encourage technicians to accurately complete Work Reports
- ✅ Require Start and End Times if labor reporting is important for your organization
- ✅ Use reports to identify staffing or workload trends
- ✅ Periodically review Problem Types to ensure reports remain meaningful
