Summary #
In order to help customers learn when specific problems are solved and learn about new features, we’ve decided to publish release notes for our appliance based products. This article will provide a quick summary of how to read them and be notified when new notes are published.
Reading the Release Notes #
Each new version release will have an article named by it’s version number. For example, 12011017. The release notes are broken down into a few key sections: Version Information, Major Issues / Additions, & Tickets.
Version Information tells you when the version is expected to be released to customers that have chosen to receive beta software, then a later date (if any at all) for when the version is expected to be released to all customers. This is the date the upgrades will start to be deployed. Upgrades get installed between midnight and 1AM local time. Sometimes the upgrades may take up to one week to be deployed to all of our customers, depending on the size of the upgrade.
Major Issues / Additions describes major software features that were added, as well as major bugs that were fixed.
Tickets lists each ticket we had in our ticketing system that was fixed in this release. They typically list which appliance service the ticket is for, then what was fixed/added/removed.
