The From field in an email is easily faked. The actual sender of an email can often be found in the mail header as the Return-Path value. If you add this to your block list, it should prevent further spam from this address.
Procedure #
The From field in an email is easily faked. The actual sender of an email can often be found in the mail header as the Return-Path value. If you add this to your block list, it should prevent further spam from this address.
- To start, log in to your WebMailPro account and find the spam message you want to filter.
- Open the spam message.
- Click on Show Header near the top of the message.
- Find the line of the header which reads “Return-Path” (usually at the top) and copy the email address which appears on that line.
- Click on “Global Settings” in the menu in the left column.
- Click on “Global Mail Rules” on the page.
- Under the first section, “Outside Email Addresses”, select “Block no incoming email from outside email addresses except the following list” if it’s not already selected.
- Directly under that line, click on “View/Edit The List”.
- Paste the email you copied earlier into the text box and click the “Add Address” button.
- Click on the “Save Changes” button near the top of the page.
You shouldn’t receive any more mail from this address.
