Summary #
WebEx is a web-based conferencing software solution, which allows participants to watch the same screen and collaborate during a presentation. The WebEx software appears to ignore the proxy settings in the browser in certain circumstances, so firewall rules are needed to permit traffic to the WebEx servers.
More Information #
To make WebEx work through SecureSchool, you need to create several firewall rules. Go to “Firewall” -> “Protocol Rules” -> “Add A Rule”. Add a rule using these settings:
- Rule Name: WebEx
- Log Packets: None
- Type: Allow
- Protocol: TCP
- Direction: From Inside
- Source Address: “0.0.0.0/0”
- Source Port: Leave blank
- Destination Address: “66.163.32.0/19”
- Destination Port: Leave blank
- Notes: Fill in any notes you’d like
Repeat the process above with the destination address “209.197.192.0/19” , “64.68.96.0/19” , “66.163.46.0/23” , “66.114.160.0/20” , “66.163.32.0/20” , “208.8.81.0/24” , “210.4.192.0/20” , “62.109.192.0/18” , “173.243.0.0/20” , “114.29.192.0/19”
Once you add the two rules, go to “Commit Changes” then restart. You should now be able to use WebEx.
