Summary #

This is the program to run on a Windows x64 based computer that you want to manage. It has been tested on Windows Server 2008 x64 Edition., but should work fine on Windows Server 2003 x64 Edition as well.

Procedure #

1. Download this file and run it: NSCP-0.4.2.114-x64.msi
2. The setup wizard will start. Click “Next”

   

3. Check the box “I accept the terms…” and click on “Next”.

   

4. Choose the “Typical” install, and click “Next”.

   

5. Leave the default Config Route, uncheck the “Install sample configuration” box. Click “Next”.

   

6. Fill in / check the following fields. Leave all other fields blank or unchecked.
   • Allowed Hosts: Enter the IP address of your SecureSchool appliance
   • Enable common check plugins: check
   • Enable NRPE server: check
   When done, click “Next”.

   

7. Lastly, it will confirm that you want to install, click on “Install”.

   

8. During the install process, it may error when trying to add the firewall rule to the Windows Firewall if you are not running the Windows Firewall. It is safe to ignore this error.
9. Once the installer finishes, go to the Monitoring Configuration File page to get the recommended configuration file.
