Microsoft Frontpage does not work well through SecureSchool and a firewall and proxy exception are needed. Do the steps below to edit a site with Microsoft Frontpage.

  1. Create a firewall rule to allow traffic to the website you are editing by going to “Firewall”->”Protocol Rules”->”Add A Rule”->”Rule Name”: something that makes sense->”Type”: Allow->”Protocol”: TCP->”Direction”: All Inside Interfaces->”Source Address”: Any->”Source Port”: leave blank->”Destination Address” Type Host Name: the site your are editing->”Destination Port”: 80,443->Submit. Commit Changes->Restart.
  2. Make a proxy exception in your browser. For Internet Explorer:
    • Go to “Tools” -> “Internet Options”
    • Click on the “Connections” tab
    • Click on the “LAN Settings” button
    • Click on the “Advanced” button next to the proxy information
    • Towards the bottom of the box, there is a box for Exceptions. Enter the name and the IP address of the website you are editing. Make sure to separate the entries with a semi-colon (;).
    • Click all of the “OK” buttons to close out of the dialog boxes.
