More Information #

To stream videos on pbs.org you need to bypass the proxy server for host urs.pbs.org. Follow the steps below to make the bypass.

Go to “Firewall” -> “Protocol Rules” -> “Add a Rule”, and add the following rule:

  • Name: urs.pbs.org
  • Type: Allow
  • Protocol: All
  • Source Address: Any
  • Source Port: leave blank
  • Destination Address ->Type Host Name: urs.pbs.org

If you are using Internet Explorer, go to “Tools” -> “Internet Options” -> “Connections” -> click the “LAN Settings” button -> next to the proxy address, click “Advanced”.  In the text box in the “Exceptions” area, add urs.pbs.org.

This will add a bypass for the one workstation only. To add this bypass to all of the workstations on your network then add the site to your group policy for Internet Explorer or, if you’re using the proxy auto detect method, add urs.pbs.org to SecureSchool’s list of exceptions by going to “Setup” ->” Proxy Config Script” > “Add an Exception”.
