DRC INSIGHT is a secure online testing platform used for Wisconsin state assessments.
It requires reliable connectivity to DRC servers for test delivery, authentication, and response submission.

If SecureSchool’s firewall or filtering policies block required traffic, students may experience:

• Inability to log in
• Tests failing to load
• Disconnections during testing

This guide outlines the recommended configuration to ensure DRC INSIGHT functions properly.

🌐 Required Domains (Allow List) #

📍 Where to Configure in SecureSchool #

Website Filtering → Website Access → Add Sites

➕ How to Add Domains #

1. Go to Website Filtering → Website Access
2. Select the appropriate Filter Set (example: SSB_Students)
3. Click Add Sites
4. Paste the required domains into the Website Addresses field
5. (Optional) Enter a reason in Reason for Change
6. Under Filtering, select Unfiltered
7. Check Add Port Access Rules
8. Select the filter set(s) you want to apply the change to
9. Click Submit

Important: Do not include http:// or https://. You can paste multiple domains at once into SecureSchool.

• Domains can be pasted directly into SecureSchool in bulk

🔌 Required Ports #

DRC INSIGHT requires the following ports:

• 443 (HTTPS) – Required for all testing traffic
• 55222–55225 (TCP) – Required for DRC INSIGHT communication

📌 SecureSchool Behavior #

When adding domains using Website Access → Add Sites and enabling
Add Port Access Rules, SecureSchool will automatically:

• Allow required outbound connections
• Open necessary client-side ports for HTTP/HTTPS traffic

Important: Ports 55222–55225 must still be allowed if you are using custom firewall rules or if another upstream firewall/security device is in place. These ports should be allowed in sequence for proper DRC INSIGHT operation.

⚙️ Network & Connectivity Notes #

• Testing devices must maintain constant Internet connectivity
• Test responses are submitted frequently during testing (approximately every 45 seconds)
• Any interruption may result in test disruption or session termination

📡 Wireless Considerations #

• Wireless is supported but may be unreliable under heavy load
• Avoid overloading access points
• Wired connections are recommended when possible
